Burger King Ketchup

The YouTube clip is very perceptive about BK. Especially the litany of negative comments made about BK. As I said, we were the only inside customers for lunch yesterday. Maybe I was not the first customer to get miffed over their watered-down ketchup. And their prices.

When it comes to Ketchup, Heinz is King! Some restaurants to use private labeled Heinz and like it was posted above, I would suspect these days the lower end Burger chains have started to try and save money on condiments.

I make it a point to stay away from McDonalds, Burger King and Wendy's. On the very very rare occasion I eat fast food it is at Culver's which in my opinion is about the best of the lot. They use Heinz.

Am timing Aldi grocery store runs (50 miles round trip) around culvers opening time (10:30 am), as it's right next to Aldis. imo, best fast food fries, best burgers and real root beer.

If wanting real good homemade fries, they get dusted with old bay seasoning while hot. As close as gonna get to blue crabs up here.

About the only thing good at BK is the original Chicken sandwich.....

My "New" burger place is In & Out for a at least a warm fresh burger
with ok fries and shakes.
!!

The secret is to order your In 'N Out fries well-done. For an extra treat, order them animal style.

Didja' know the green part of a potato plant - the part above ground - is actually poisonous?
I only learned that fairly recently.

Where'd you see that one? I've had African potatoe greens at several area restaurants, and have lived to tell the tale...

Culvers is much better than the usual. I've been to the one in the hood once.

Years ago, my wife and I used to frequent a Whataburger near us, now closed. Their little tubs of ketchup were labeled "premium ketchup."

I once asked one of the servers if I could just get their ordinary ketchup, and she actually went back to ask the manager if any was available...

Must be either something different about the greens they are using or something about how they prepare them to neutralize the solanine (a glycoalkaloid poison) in the leaves and stems.

Ever see the movie or read the book The Martian? When I first read the book I thought, "Why would he throw away the greens - why not eat them too?" So I did a Google search. Check it for yourself...

I read a story, probably fifty or more years ago, about how Soviet scientists decided to create the perfect plant by blending potatoes with lettuce so that the plant would have the head of a lettuce and the roots of a potato plant.

What they achieved, though, was the head of a potato and the roots of a lettuce...

I seldom buy fast food, maybe every four or five years. There are better hamburgers than Burger King, though most of the other fast food kind might not be among them.

As for ketchup, even the worst can reap a 100% improvement with a generous dose of regular Tabasco; not enough to make it hot, only enough to improve flavor immensely. I don't carry a speedloader or tactical pen in my car but wouldn't be without an emergency bottle of Tabasco.

My wife brought home Siracha Ketchup the other day. Didn't know it existed. Now I keep some at the office for lunch as well. Around here, a lot of folks use ranch on their fries in lieu of ketchup.

Sriracha ketchup is the only kind we have in the house anymore. Good stuff.
