I currently have a 627PC that I outfitted with a Docter optic red dot several years ago. I have not been very happy with the optic and the elevation and windage adjustments are terrible. Since then, I've put a Fastfire 3 on a Ruger 22/45 and I much prefer the Burris to the Docter.

When I outfitted my 627, I went with a JPoint mount for the N frame and I love the mount. JPoint also made an adapter plate specifically for using the Docter optic on their JPoint mount. So that's the way I went. But I'd like to keep the JPoint mount, but switch to a Burris Fastfire 3.

Is this possible? Is there a way to mount a Fastfire that low on a 627PC?

I'd like to also utilize the JPoint mount for a FFIII. As you have both a Docter and a FF, I'm guessing they don't swap out, base-wise?

You'd think there'd be a compatibilty chart somewhere...

Allchin makes a low profile mount that is supposed to fit the FastFire III. I'll know more when the one I ordered arrives later today.

I don't want to remove both optics to see if the FF will work on the JPoint mount, then I'll have to re-zero both and the Docter is kinda of a PITA. That's what I dislike the most about the Docter.

Looking forward to hearing and seeing some photos.

The Allchin mount puts the Burris (or J point etc) the lowest to the bore that I have seen. I have Fastfire 3 mounted on the Allchin on a 617. The one (and about only) thing I don't like about the Burris is the 3 MOA dot. For my eye's (73 yrs old) it's too small. I wish it was offered in a 5 MOA which I think is abut right, especially outdoors.

Here's a couple more views on my 4" 686. It fits snugly into the sight slot and seems to mount securely. For me the 3 MOA dot works well on medium or high brightness.
