In my army days we used R1 (modified FN FAL) and R4 (modified Galil) rifles, so I'm pretty familiar with 7.62 and 5.56 rounds.

I'm dying to get myself something like a Sig 556 or AR4, but the cost of the rifle and the ounds is a little steep for me. So hence the M&P 15-22 :).

The best price I can get in the Charlotte area is just under 600 bills for the version with the Magpul accessories and the flash suppressor. Sounds a bit much to me, besides I can't stand FirePower and don't want to give them my money, s my next best is buying online, which I've never done for a weapon.

Anyone know how this works? How do I buys something like this online, and are there extra charges ... etc?

Thanks for any help.

There won't be extra charges from the seller other than shipping in most cases, but it will have to be shipped to an FFL in your area who will charge you a fee to transfer it. Some dealers don't want to deal with transfers on items you could have purchased from them.

Contact ill_noiz He just bought a 15 22 threaded barrel version from Jetguns for 350! There is even a thread about it, with the sites link.

There's also the option of the Sig 522 if that style of rifle is more up your alley. The new versions come with iron sights, and there's a factory 20" heavy barrel as well. You should be able to get one in the same price range as the M&P.

Before you order any firearm online call around to local shops or FFL dealers on any list you can find. The price for transferring and doing the paperwork varies anywhere between $10 and $50 from what I've seen. If you don't have a shop you take all of your business to then try to find someone $25 or cheaper to take delivery and transfer it to you.

I bought the same rifle from Jet Guns back in July when the price was $398. Who would have guessed that Tony would drop his price $50 in a month and a half! The transaction could not have gone smoother. Placed my order Tuesday morning, the gun was on the truck Tuesday afternoon, and at my FFL's in three days. $20 transfer fee and you have a brand new rifle for under $370 and no credit card fees.

I ordered mine from jetguns on Saturday and will hopefully have it by Wed or Thur. Paid $353 shipped with insurance. Hope it works out seeing as how it was much cheaper than anyone else.
