OK, good news to report: My C&R license was in today's mail. That's like a month and a day after I mailed the application.

Misty, I've got to believe yours will be in your hands soon.

I applied for my regular manufacturer/gunsmith FFL 4 weeks ago. ATF boy calls a week ago, and then visits me last week. He stays for 4.5 hours, goes over a check list with me, and we go over rules/laws/procedures in detail. Does his inspection and leaves.
Thorough as they come, very helpful, and says it will be another 3-4 weeks before I get the license.

Geez! I just got off the phone with the ATF. They received my application back in July. I was told it will be another "month or so" before I get the license. Oh well. At least I know they have it. I guess once they get the money, they're in no hurry to get the license in the mail.

I had read that they were overloaded with applications.

I'm sure it also takes time for the ATF to pass along all those names to the DHS for inclusion to their right-wing extremist list.
