I started a thread on 696 44spl and someone commented on the C&S sights. Looked like replacement rear sight that did away with all the sharp edges. What do you know about them.

They are a very durable and well made sight. I tried one on a Model 67 but ended up replacing it because I didn't care for the sight picture. One note: The Extreme Duty sight you can buy directly from C&S has a square notch while the one S&W supplies on the Night Guard series is a rounded notch.

You might also consider the Bowen Rough Country rear sight, which is adjustable but is very robust.

Hmmmmmmmmmm
Looks like I have a good option if I cant find the snubbies I want with factory fixed sights.
BEAUTIFUL piece coyote.

In others experience. How does this sight affect POI with the factory front sight(orange insert), say on a Model 66 snub? The factory adjustable just has such a sharp edge to them.

A custom S&W model 28 converted to .44 Special caliber. It shoots POI.

A custom S&W 657, .41 mag. This revolver shot very low. Front sight was taken down to shoot POI.

WC,

Do the C&S rear sights fit the older style (square front end) frame groove?

Thanks,

todd

The folks at C&S told me they wouldn't, but then again forum members have clearly installed them on older guns. Not sure if modifications were required. Anyone?

Yes, they can be made to fit. This is the S&W model 28. You can see from the front the modification Mag-Na-Port made. It also had to be drilled, and tapped.

This is the 28 as a work in progress.
