The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals acting on Thursday struck down the CA requirement for a background check to buy ammo. It originally cost $1 per transaction and just went up to $5 per transaction this month. The system would normally refuse to sell you ammo even if you were not a prohibited person unless you had PURCHASED a gun at your current address of record. Even the Ninth Circuit recognized issues with this so you know it was really, really bad. I am confident that the state will appeal. Hopefully unsuccessfully.
