The California Senate has passed a bill that requires ammo purchasers to have a permit, pass a background check, and pay a $50 fee each time they buy ammo. Other bills passed at the same time ban all semi-automatic rifles with detachable mags, and outlaw all firearm magazines in excess of 10 rounds, including those already owned. What the Hell is wrong with these people?

Los Angelos and San Fransisco.

just went to an ammo sale in sacramento today was able to buy about 1000 rounds 22lr and 500 rounds 45 thought i would buy what i could before they pass their stupid laws. they had a big crowd but lots of ammo.

I have been sort of following this for a while, just confirms that I made the right decision when I left Ca. I lived there for 35 years, a real tragedy what has happened to once what was the greatest place to live n the U.S. I do think that the OP may be wrong about the ammo fee, my understanding is that it is a one time fee for the background check. Still is the wrong way to handle the issue, IT'S THE CRAZY PEOPLE, not law abiding folks that they need to be worried about.

In the news the other day, and in addition to the ammo issue, it appears gun owners of certain weapons will have to register their weapon(s) with local authorities immediately once the bill has passed. Magazines of semi-autos will have a max limit to 10 rds. Certain shotguns are on the list as having to be registered. Bullet button law is being challenged and CA government is investigating a couple of on-line dealers who sell gun parts. The ammo issue will also target buyers who purchase 3000 rds or more at a time. Those sales will have to be reported to the state. I've also heard a lot of talk about the $50 permit fee for purchasing ammo. Some have said it's a once-a-year fee and others have said it is everytime you purchase ammo. There is a youtube video of a Canadian news anchor who discusses the cons of what the State of CA is proposing, or any state for that matter.

I don't know how you put up with things like that. My wife talks occasionally how it might be fun to end up in Commifornia after I finish school, and as much as I love the beach I cringe at the notion that I would be considered an outlaw there. I am afraid there is no room left in that state for common sense and decency. It seems to be all shock value celebrity jockeying or gang violence (where the heck do they get their ammo anywho then?) nowadays, RIP California. What could be next?

All I can say is I'M GLAD I LIVE IN KENTUCKY! :D

If you want the beach, move to Florida. No sales tax and no oppressive gun laws

Every day the California government reaffirms my decision to get the h out of that state. God, I love Kentucky!!!

The sad part is that the liberals want to do to the rest of the country the same what they did to california. We, all law abiding citizens, need to resist, vote and push back otherwise we are gonna lose our country.

I will blatantly ignore all of these laws. My normal capacity magazines, I'll keep them in Az. My ammunition, I'll buy out of state, or have a friend buy them for me and ship the ammo to my business... at least the stuff I don't hand load

Screw all the lib-t&rds, and everyone who votes for them.

The ONLY problem with Florida is the distance from my family and hers. We are both Left Coasters and I think it would kill her and her family to be far apart. I do love visiting though! Going to do my out of state CCW there this Sat in fact.

I think I am going to drag her back to Vegas, I miss/love that place to death and my family is there. 3 hours from beaches, 3 hours from mountains, no income tax and no real crazy gun laws (except that you can't buy ammo period between 7pm-7am).
