Call out to my Virginia brethern ...

It's better than what just hit in Maryland:
Bans, licenses, registration, mag capacity limit to 10, ammo restriction so bad that no one under 21 can hunt.

When are we going to rise up as whole and squash this mess ... little by little the "progressive" liberals are destroying a great nation. This rush on guns since Dec. 14th says a lot about the passion of the 2nd Amendment in this country. If we could get them all to use thier voices ...

You saw what they did with the assault weapons ban proposal...the bad ones won't get far, but write to your reps regardless.

These two infuriate me, watch their proposals closely.

NRA-ILA | Virginia: Legislative Committees Scheduled to Consider and Vote on Numerous Consequential Gun Bills This Week

Read the magazine bill ... no more than possession of 3, confiscation, registration .....

I already wrote and called ...

Both of these individuals want to make me a criminal for the mere possession of my high capacity magazines.
  • Joseph D. Morrissey
  • Alfonso H. Lopez

Today, their proposals don't have a chance of passing...tomorrow may be a completely different story. We'd better pay damn close attention to our elected official's stances on gun rights. Our laws could (without much notice) turn 180 deg (during the midnight hours) in the future, based on these two knuckleheads, just like what happened in NY.

Regards, Mike

Don't say that. My family and I are still trying to move to Va Beach.

I lived in Va Beach, VA from 1984 to 2012. My advice is "don't do it". LOL Where are you planning on moving in Va Beach? I lived in the Green Run area from 1990 to 2012 in the same house.

I lived off Dam Neck Road from 1992-1997 when I moved to Richmond. Va. Beach wasnt my favorite place for sure, but I have some great memories. :)

We were thinking about Pungo. What didn't you like about it? It seemed to me that the north end was the "tourist" spot and everything below that was ok.

My wife and I got out because the crowd, traffic, increase in crime, and cost of living. Our apartment rent here in Lynchburg is $400 a month cheaper than VA Beach and in a safer, quieter area. My parents are also moving out in to the country and will be renting their house in Green Run.

How's Poquoson or any area surrounding Newport News? My wife has two options for work, Va Beach or Newport News. I know we will never move to Newport News, but I'm not sure of the surrounding areas. I've spent the last 20 years policing a large city and I was to live in the country, as far away as possible without my wife having a long commute.

The traffic in the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel is heavy every day. Pungo is growing up fast as well meaning it is less country and away than it was 20 years a go. If your wife has a Newport News job offer then I would stay on that side of the tunnel to avoid the commute in the traffic from VA Beach. Five mile backups are common in the hrbt.

LOL Pungo only had a yellow flashing traffic light in 1992, when I moved to Va. Beach, used to go that way all the time on my fishing trips to Blackwater. Green Run was pretty rough 20 years ago, cant imagine it now.

Ok, help me out with other areas to look, please. The more country the better. Schools are very important too.
Thanks

I went to "Gang Run" high school in the early 90s so yeah been there done that. You would be surprised to see Pungo now.
