I talked to a S&W tech this morning.I asked about S&W doing away with the Sigma and SD.He said,"S&W introduced the Sigma series as a low budget affordable polymer gun to sort of compete with the Glock, but not cost as much. The SD was introduced to be a step up from the Sigma with a more improved trigger. And the M&P was their top of the line gun to become more of a LE/military weapon. Each is in a class to accomodate the buyer and how much money they want to spend."
He also said he does not know anything about the Sigma and SD being deleted. He said the Sigma is doing very well in sales and don't see why it would be deleted.Nothing was said about the SD.He also said that the higher ups at S&W are hush hush about such news and about if another gun is due to come out.

Thanks Ruger Nut. I guess you got as much information as they are willing to give out. Happy to hear that the Sigma line is doing well and the production of it is safe for now.

Even though they gave you no news to report, thanks for calling. I was tempted to do this myself. I'm not surprised by one bit that they had no info for you and my sneaking suspicion is even if they guy did know something was up he wouldn't have let it on.
