Can a gunsmith repair a ding on a slide?

One of the lower, muzzle-end corners of the slide on my newly-acquired LE trade-in 4566 took a hard hit at some point in its life; i.e. the corner is flattened some. Could a competent smith (S&W Performance Center?) repair/smooth out the corner and then do the opposite side so it matches or is it not worth worrying about?

If you plan to carry this for a defense gun, I'd consider it a battle scar and press on.
All carry guns eventually show some dings and wear.

The short answer is yes. Easy fix if not a critical/fitted surface.

If it bugs you it's worth fixing. Then again, I make a living fixing just such things.
