Can I sell ammunition?

I have a few rounds of 7mm Rem Mag ammo that I want to sell. I started wondering if there are laws that would prohibit me doing that legally. I am in AL and wanted to get opinions from you guys. It will be a local sell so there will be no shipping.

Depends on two things:

What you ask for it.
What your local laws are.

In AL (or most states) there are absolutely no restrictions on ammo sales. You can even ship it, just not though the USPS. You can even sell guns in most states to another individual face-to-face. If you ship a gun, the receiving person must always have a FFL, though.

Thanks Chris. And that brings up another question. I have considered selling a gun on a place like GunBroker and have wondered if it is legal for me to ship a gun to a FFL in order to make a sale, or would I have to use a FFL tp ship it to another FFL.

You can sell the gun as a non-FFL, but many FFL holders will not accept a gun shipped from a non-FFL. Also I've had some UPS centers that won't ship a gun from a non-FFL even theough it's legal to as long as it's going to a dealer or authorized repair center.
