.32 I frame Hand Ejector? Would be around 1952. Some pictures would help the experts help you.
Here are some known ship dates I was able to scrounge up:
Pre-Model 30 serial 575003 shipped in May 1952.
Pre-Model 30 serial 593224 shipped in December 1952.

We're having a run on good thread titles this week!
I couldn't wait to hear about dating a NEW revolver.
I gave up dating revolvers. They are usually too needy and talk too much, mostly about their former owners.
All mine can talk about is how well they did in the hands of other men, until the ungrateful louses traded them in on a younger model...I couldn't wait to hear about dating a NEW revolver.

You have an Improved I Frame, 1st version (1/2 round front sight and coil main spring) .32 Hand Ejector (round butt) or .32 Regulation Police (sq butt).
It's not a Pre Model. It evolved into the Improved I frame, 2nd version. Then in 1953 it evolved into the Model of 1953 New I Frame which is a Pre Model 30 or Pre Model 31 depending on the butt shape.
I have one with a VERY close serial # that shipped in 9/52.
Recognize S&W did not build or ship guns in serial # order but yours likely shipped within a month before or after that date.
