Is that serial number taken from the butt of the revolver? Does it have a lug under the barrel? The first .32-20 S&W revolver was the Model of 1899 and the SNs ran from #1 to #5311. It didn't have an under lug for the end of the ejector rod. The first Model of 1902 serial number range started with #5312.

These numbers were taken from the SCSW, 4th edition.

Sorry, it's a model of 1899.No underlug.

For some reason this old, cosmetically challenged, nickel 1899 is my favorite .32-20..maybe because it's so early in the production of M&Ps
