32 WCF Revolver

Acquired a .32-20 Colt Bisley a few years ago and added a Winchester M.1892. Firearms chambered for .32-20 tend to be priced markedly lower that other calibers, especially in Colts. The cartridge is a joy to shoot and easy to reload. Out of the Winchester it's as quiet as a subsonic .22 rimfire.

32/20 was the first "big Boy" caliber I shot (I was 8 years old and had only shot 22 short & LR up till then)
It was my dad's Smith & Wesson Hand ejector 4th change; I still have it 70 years on
What's is so cool beside the nostalgia is, My dad carried it on board the "Lenape" his
32-foot motor cruiser as Coast Guard Auxiliary coast watcher Feb.. 1942 - Aug 1942
I have been fond of the Caliber ever since.
I have an 1891 Winchester 73, a Marlin Model 1894 32-20 & a COLT SAA all in 32/20.
I load for all, and the Winchester is Black Powder only.

The opportunity to own a 32-20 is age less. It's definitely one of my favorite cartridges. If you own a revolver in it you definitely need a companion rifle. They make a perfect pair for Appalachian woods walking.

I happened upon a K-Frame .32 WCF 6" revolver yesterday in a local gunshop. First one I've ever seen in the flesh.

Didn't know that .32WCF and .32-20 are one and the same caliber!

This piece showed a lot of wear but was tight and seemed to function fine. They want $299 for it - I have no interest in owning it but it did prompt me to do a little reading on the caliber and how it was used both in rifles and pistols when introduced.

Just another facet of Smith and Wesson history.

If I were younger I might have been tempted to buy it, clean it up and load for it, as I understand factory .32-20 is expensive and hard to find.

Serial number 108402.
108456 shipped 7/22, according to info in my database. They are great guns. If you reload, best to use lead bullets. S&W heat treating didn't start until just after WW 1.

Some of those had the 32-20 rifle load ran through them. I been told the rifle ammo for a time anyway was loaded hotter. Buddy had one had a slight bulge in the barrel colse to the frame from it. I always wanted a 32-20 M&P target. Neat cartridge.
