Can someone tell me about this revolver?

You haven't bought it yet?
Why?
Better get it, before he realizes what he has, and comes to his senses.

If I wasn't sitting at home with a knee problem, I'd buy it from you.
Trouble is, this knee problem may have an adverse effect on my income.

With the proper diameter bullets it should shoot any loads like a laser. It was just built and optimized for that particular event.

One question, I reload LSWC's that are .358 diameter. I'm guessing this gun has a match grade barrel. So should I not shoot the .358's and reload .357's or does it matter?

What makes you say DAO. Mine is both. I have the parts anyway. I shoot button nose wad cutters in mine:).

No hammer spur.......(it could still have the single action notch...... but kind of doubt it).........

Just wanted to give him a heads up......didn't want the OP to think/fear there was a problem(broken part) with a very nice gun ......... if there is no single action......

What you need are some hard cast 148 grain .357 button nose wad cutters. Mine will shoot .356s. It may have a faster twist than a Smith. Some are 1 in 14. I have these for fast shooting in double action. Like shooting a 22.

Do they have to be swaged bullets or can I use ones that aren't?

Look, it's still a .38 Special, it will shoot any and all .38 Special bullets.
One might be more accurate than the next, but until you get out to at least 25 yards, it might not matter.

There was a police team shooting 110 grain Zero JHPs while I was active in PPC. I normally shot Speer 148 gr hollowbase wadcutters, but some cast wadcutters and a good many cast SWCs for the Distinguished match in my Python.

Now you guys have me all worked up!! Keep us posted!!! I don't even have a dog in the fight, but have to admit that I'm excited for you! This is one of those great deals that you just can't pass up even if you weren't interested in shooting at all!

Best Regards, Les

Looks like "Clark" to me....... to the OP..... just an FYI the gun is "Double action only"........and most likely very nice DOA!!!!!!

Wouldn't buy it for $500....not my thing...... at least not since the mid-80s......... but for $150 OH YA!!

Heck, yes. I couldn't read the barrel. It's a Clark and likely the best deal you'll see on a Clark in a long time to come. Congrats on that find.

Ok guys, so I picked it up right before shift. I did a quick look over of it and it locks up great and is in very good condition. I haven't had much time to play with it, as I'm on duty right now and we are very busy tonight. Btw the trigger pull is by far the best I've ever felt on a revolver. I'll keep you poster later on and hopefully have pics by tomorrow.

I seem to remember that recently one of the Clark Family had cancer and passed away not all that long ago. You are driving me nuts with that revolver. Please post pics as soon as possible. I saw one set up using a Colt Trooper III frame and internals. Guy wanted $750 for it which I thought was high at the time. No makers name either. Frank

Ok, a guy I work with was showing me pictures of revolvers he's acquired over the years. He showed me a picture of a S&W competition gun. I asked him if he would ever consider selling it. He said he'd sell it to me for $150. I asked him what model it was and at the time he could not tell me.

Well today he sent me a text and said it was a Model 10-5. He also said it has Black Custom MASCOT on the side of the barrel and 089 on the side of the barrel and 8799.

I already have a 64-1 but I think $150 is an awesome deal for a custom 10-5.

Can anyone elaborate on his firearm and the custom shop it came from?

$150 would have been a good price forty years ago..What a deal!

Surprised that no one, (including me) has posted the active link to Clark's website. They are still making conversions to customers guns, and can buy one already set up. Page not found - Clark Custom Guns. It says "page not found" but seems to work nevertheless.

Yours is a real bargain...and has features that are still in demand.

Best Regards, Les

Removal of the hammer spur is kind of a giveaway that it is DAO.

I see the OP's prospect has a "White Trigger Stop."
Actually, his is red, but it is a piece of rubber cemented to the rear of the trigger guard. Stroke the trigger all the way to the rubber, then refine sight picture and squeeeeze against the rubber for a near single action break.

I have 3 de-spurred revolvers, all of which retain the SA capability. That one may have been converted to DA only, but I know of many that were not.
