As the subject states I need to know if you can add the parts from a Shield with magazine disconnect to one that does not. While I personally do not care for mag disconnects on fighting pistols some police agencies require that even off duty guns have this feature.

If not it looks like I'll be buying a second Shield. I thought I was smart buying one without the safety as this agency's M&P's don't have any. They do however have magazine disconnects.

Thanks

Yes, the mag disconnect parts will fit in your Shield. They are probably specific to the Shield though so, you'll have to be sure to get the right parts.

I'm sure someone on this forum who has removed their Shield mag disconnect would be glade to send you the parts (lever and spring).

S&W will not sell the parts separately. If you can't get the parts from someone here, you'd have to buy a complete sear block with the parts already installed.

Changing the sear block isn't that big a deal.

Your post hints that "this agencies ...have magazine disconnects". If you're joining an agency (or know of one) that uses them, I'm sure their armorers can take care of you with a new sear block with all the correct parts. Otherwise, check with Brownells and/or MidwayUSA.

thanks to all. The armors of this agency state that if they can get the parts they can instal. I'm waiting on S&W to reply to my request for parts.

I'd gladly buy the sear or trigger group. My only beef is with the policy of the agency as I personally do not believe in mag disconnects and that it will affect the trigger on this Shield which is *******' amazing as is.

thanks all
Steve
