Can you shoot 32 H&R Magnum +P in…..

Gotta always remember, some “old” guns may chamber a cartridge just fine, yet not be ok with a load with higher pressures than originally designed for it. (Think 45/70 and Trapdoor Springfield rifles-a modern load that works fine in a Marlin or Henry will grenade a trapdoor). IMHO there “Should” be a “standard” +P designation (X percent over normal pressure). You take an ancient firearm designed and built for low pressure rounds and drop an over pressure round in them you are asking for trouble. I’m sure the ammo companies load at lower than max because of our litigious society. You note than modern .357’s and .38nSpers are a fair bit milder than loads put out in the 1930’s.

I purchased that finely made model.
My plan is to use the Tarass 327 snub of the same lenth barrel to develop loads.
For immediate use I decided Hornaday 80gr xtp would be the ticket for carry.
