can't open cylinder (model 642)

have fired approximately 200 rounds in the model 642....planning to go to firing range on tuesday but discovered i cannot open the cylinder to load...How do I open the cylinder without damaging anything.....thanks

played around with the ejector rod by making it not as tight....this appears to be a recurring problem (2x in the last 4 weeks)....any suggestions on a easy fix.....Never had such a problem on my 686-3 4inch even after 1000 rounds

First clean the threads on the rod with rubbing alcohol.

Then use blue loc-tite on the threads. Then tighten as tight as you can with finger pressure only.
