It's no secret that my hometown of Baltimore has a crime problem (to put it mildly). Last year, in that city of about 570,000 people, there were 11,000 car thefts and about 1,000 armed carjackings.
Well, the other night a legally-armed citizen turned the tables on a would-be carjacker. The kid is in "grave condition", and while I take no pleasure in his impending demise, if this sort of thing happened more often there'd be a lot fewer carjackings...
