I wasn't sure if this would be the correct (or best) section for this topic, but I've been searching for the best case or bag for carrying my S&W's to the range or wherever. Seems most range bags are geared more towards semi-autos, but I've got all revolvers with barrels from 6" to 2" (L thru J frame), and I'm not seeing a perfect solution.

Am I just over-thinking this?

Any recommendations?

Hello Berik, yep. over thinking it.
I have a black Bianchi bag, try and find one , perfect for my needs of two revolvers and a few autos. There is no bag that fits all the needs. Just go shoot and enjoy. Best

I read somewhere else to use a bowling ball bag.Strong, built for heavy carry and not very expensive.

I use a Canon camera bag. Padded well, lots of pockets & will hold my 66 & room for my Beretta I'm getting someday. Room for eyes & ears too...along with several boxes of ammo.

It says it is a 4 pistol case but placing them in there carefully I have found I can fit 6 in there without them hitting each other....

I use an NRA Tactical Range Bag. It is very large but holds everything I want or need with room to spare. For the size and construction the price is not bad at all.

I bought the smaller size blue box from Smith & Wesson for my 19-3 since she didn't come with a box. Fits in perfectly! Will have to grab another case for carrying, as that one is more for just storage.

All the previous responses have covered the normal low cost options. I use a couple including the Husky tool bag. Currently I'm on the hunt for something a little more "dorky". Allow an explanation. Looking for something that rolls, has perhaps 4 or 5 drawers of different depths with a flat top. The concept thing is if you are an older shooter and the preferred range/shooting spot has asphalt/concrete or at least no pea gravel, then why carry guns, ammo, and the rest of your gear when you can drag it. I've seen service techs with rolling tool bags then breed that with a rolling file boxes used by paralegals. Small rolling carry-on type bags are a good size but not compartmentalized correctly. Sorry, just the ramblings of an old retired cop. hardcase60

I have an older briefcase-like gun case from Gun Guard that will carry three or four revolvers to the range. I also use a small nylon bag that carries my ear protection, eye protection, targets and ammo. You can spend lots of money on tricked out equipment or re-purpose what you have.

I use an inconspicuous generic "Gym" bag. I try to keep people about thinking what is inside. They are cheap, roomy, strong and blend in to todays society without raising eyebrows.

Gun Rugs are what protect the pistols and revolvers inside.

I use a plastic range box (I think it’s MTM) that holds everything except ear muffs and targets. Made some “bags” out of old sweat shirts for up to 5 revolvers in the bottom. A tray that holds 4+ boxes of ammo and a compartment in the lid for tools and what not.

I use a bag that my C-pap came in many years ago. It's not like I use it to lug the C-pap around with me.

Ammo, ear muff's, a few tools, staper all fit in there. Guns go in tucked in old cotton socks to protect the guns from hitting against stuff.

What can I say? I'm cheap.
