I'll bet that the die-hard Ford boys are spinning (if they were paying attention). Most of Henry's early models, up to "T's", were designed and engineered by the Dodge Brothers! :D

I have been watching Search and Restore. They take cars from people and restore, or should I say rebuild them. They just did a 72 Mustang that started out as a 6 banger. It was awesome when it was restored with all kinds of upgrades like a 363 v-8. I imagine each car they have done would have cost minimum 30 grand but it is all done for the chosen person for no cost. The show is on ION TV at 8PM here in the Houston area.

I watched it last night. I found it quite interesting, myself. I'm looking forward to when they get into the 1950's, 60's and 70's vehicles. I thought last night took us up to World War II, but I didn't hear much about the Ford Flathead V-8's of the 1930's??? Or did I just miss it???

Watched it for 15 minutes today while eating lunch - actually found it by a accident. I might try and catch a full episode.

I watched it. Kind of interesting.

Also read in the paper today that China is making a bid to buy Chrysler, or is it Fiat or is it Mercedes?? You know, one of the bailout companies.

Bet that is not in the documentary.

Not even interested. Today American cars are over priced junk. Been there with new American made cars many times. Nothing but problems. Once the dealers crew laughed at me when my engine blocked cracked under warranty. I owned Japanese cars ever since who's laughing at me now. One must know who there customer is. Does GM need another government bailout?

I worked for dealers at an early age, you don't treat customers like that.

It's part of our history there are things some us didn't know. It just shows how one person almost run a major company in the crapper.

Hello!
Fiat already does own Chrysler.
That was the result of a panic last minute deal to keep them in business.

Chrysler did not need Fiat,,,,Fiat needed Chrysler. Fiat needed Chrysler to get their little Putt-Putts back into this country. How they got control is another story and should have never happened.
The same way Chrysler did not need Mercedes, Mercedes wanted something from Chrysler. That Chrysler sellout was set up the orchestrate the golden parachute for the then Chrysler chairman who Iacocca hand picked as his number two and his replacement. Really P.O. Iacocca! ;)
When Iacocca left Chrysler they were sitting fat, dumb and happy! :)

Looked good for the "New Pope"

Watching the second show right now.
Exactly how many biographers does Henry Ford have anyway?
He seems to have more than Abraham Lincoln !

FYI, there were three Chevrolet brothers. Arthur, Gaston and Louis. They got their start in auto racing including the Indy 500.
