New owner, new member here and it's been raining since I purchased my MOE version so what else to do but digest this forum, right?

For some reason the search feature doesn't play nicely with my iPad so I'd appreciate advice on some of your favorite cases. I know there are as many varieties as there are possible mods to your gun so thanks for any info you're willing to share. Google is great but nothing like personal experience to learn from. :D

home storage, pelican 1720:
I can fit my 15-22 with all the fixings, as well as two mags - along with my 20" barreled Ruger with a scope.
range bag, condor 36":
I can fit my 15-22 with all my range gear & several magazines - along with my m&p 22 pistol

A case is for transport. A gun safe is an invaluable purchase that will serve you a lifetime and prevent thugs from breaking in, stealing your weapons, and making the headlines and fuel for gun grabbers. It also gives you some fire and tornado protection.

That said, Academy has some nice affordable soft cases with mag pouches for range trips.

Yep, a safe is best for home storage (my new one comes Tuesday, the old one was just for pistols). For transport, I have a Blackhawk Tactical case that has pouches that fit 15-22 magazines and a long pocket for a scope. I got it at Cabela's for less than $50 last year sometime and it has given me good protection and service.

The search feature doesn't like to work on my iPhone from the drop-down menu either, every time I type a letter it dissapears and I have to bring up the drop-down menu again. It works for me just to bring down the drop-down menu than click advanced search. Might help you too.

It doesn't work on my Droid Razr HD either. I always thought I was doing something wrong. But like you say it works with the advance search.

I bought a midway Pro Tactical case, it has four Velcro straps to hold the rifle in place.

I've only bought hard cases just on the premise they protect more. Just what I was thinking, but to those with experience with the soft cases, do they protect as well as the hard ones? My rectangle hard case fits both my sport and 15-22 as opposed to the ones that angle smaller on one side, but it doesn't leave a lot of room for much else. I have a "gun tote" that I always take to the range with me that's got all my mags, ammo, cleaning kit, tools, and targets that I take either way so space isn't that much of an issue, but the one case gets a little heavy, and there's not a lot of point in me taking two hard cases, so is it worth picking up a 2-rifle soft case?

Works fine on my iPad 2 running iOS 6.01.

Weird, hasn't worked on any of my iPhones. Than again I run mine jailbroken so I'm still on 5.01. Apple must've added support for active java script on the update. Oh well, gotta wait for the jailbreak on 6.01.

I went w/ this guy:
Voodoo Tactical 15-7613 Enhanced 36-inch MOLLE Compatible Soft Rifle Case

Seems to be doing the trick so far and with the addition of a couple of MOLLE pouches has plenty of storage for eyes, ears, a multitude of mags, full size Nalgene, tools and cleaning stuff, binoculars, point and shoot camera, etc., my 15-22, and a couple of pistols for a full day at the range aside from ammo and targets. It seems to work fine w/ the 15-22 and a 10/22 in there as well. Not sure it would work w/ 2 pistols and two rifles though.

Backpack carry works very nicely and it seems plenty durable and protective so far, obviously not as much so as a Pelican but... I do like that the zippers are lockable even if all they do is keep honest people honest.

Kinda pricey compared to other very similar options, but no regrets so far.
