Catch-all

If it thunders in February, it'll frost in May.

Thundered two different times this February here.

No, but deer do. A few years ago I was hog hunting in TX. We had a hog lease only, no deer. I was sitting in the blind for hours and saw nothing. Then a doe and two fawns walked by within 20 feet of the blind.

The doe must have known that I couldn't shoot at her, because she turned around and gave me "the finger."

That's how I know they have hands.

By the way, do penguins have hands?

I have never been a Dwight Yokum fan or Buck Owens either for that matter. Dwight always seemed to be trying to decide if he wanted to be Buck, or Elvis, or James Dean.

But I got a shock when I heard this. Dwight sang it at Buck's funeral. The man has a great singing voice and I don't know why he has gone to so much trouble hiding it.

This was my fathers favorite Hymn and we sang it at his funeral. But this is the best version I've heard of it. The singin' starts at 2 min, 10 sec.

One more tribute song. You will need 2 hankies for this'n. I promise. Vince Gill wrote this for his bother when he passed but he and Patty Loveless did it at Jones's funeral. He and Patty have been good friends and performed and recorded together for many years. Vince gets very emotional during the performance and No doubt is thinking about his brother as well as George. Patty is really hurting for him but they get through. They have the audience in tear and on their feet. I cry every time I watch this.

This kind of thing is just one of the reasons I love Country music so much.

Hankies up....
