Cats

Maine Coons

:D Sounds like they have you well trained. You know the saying Dogs want a master Cats want a staff.

FWIW we have 3 very large indoor only male Main Coons and when they get bounding thought the house at night it sounds like a Clydesdale running and can actually shake things a bit.:D

Added--- Actually many Coons are quite vocal and make a lot of different sounds!

We also have three Maine Coons and the amount of noise three light-footed cats can make is truly amazing.

Ol' Duke may be only part Main Coon but he sure has the look of a pure bred except he is slightly smaller. Brisket neck. Buffalo head. Big shoulders and feet. large boned frame.

He loves to talk. His "tone of voice" may be a clue to what he's saying. But he walks around the house constantly talking. when he get's loud he's usually fussin' at one of the other cats.

We have a basket in the living room where we TRY to keep all the cat toys. They all have their favorites. During the night on most nights Duke will bring in 2 or 3 and put them either at the foot of the bed or one my side or on Miss Pam's side on the floor.

When we go into the breakfast room he brings them in there and puts them at our chairs, Talking the whole time he is walking across the living room floor with them in his mouth. One at a time until he has them all in there.

We usually have a "toy round up" every morning after breakfast. We gather up all the ones we can find and put them back in the basket. The others have usually taken out some and scattered then all over the house. Later that night the whole routine begins again.

I have 3 cats. Love em. Im alone most of the time, home and in pretty rough shape, and the cats make my day.
I actually bug them more than they bug me.
They are my buddies and we help each other live a good life.
The pic is bear, she is a good girl.

I taught one of my tamed feral cats to head butt me on my forehead.
He did head butt my coffee cup on the bottom when I was drinking it. I got coffee all over me. Now he's head butting the misses. I can teach him anything. They come to my whistle, they come when I call them. The head butt one jumps up on the chair when I say up. There so smart if we work with them.

This is my herd:

L-R: The Crusher, Chloe Jet and Mayhem. They grew up with a pet door so they're indoor/outdoor, but hang pretty close to the yard and now that it's cooler, they spend more time indoors. Great companions.

Love them all but The Crusher is my boy.

In no particular order I "LIKE" the whole conversation.
I am a "pet" person and have always been.
Dog are good in many ways and cats are special thought they don't necesseraly care.
We had a big 'ol female we called momma kitty-though she never had kittens-but when she walked down the sidewalk, all the dogs went to the other side.
Blessings

This is Harry. He looked like Harry from the movie when he was a kitten. He was my side kick for the entire 2 1/2 years we got to enjoy him. I worked the early shift and went to bed before the DW, Harry would take up point in the hallway and defend me when she came back. Pic is him on his perch in '09 going coast to coast. He loved his walks around the campground each evening on a harness. At home he rode on my shoulder all the time.

Cats are very special critters. True, they don't "talk" but I never cease to be amazed at the many ways they can come up with to communicate their wants/needs. My 3 all know how to get what they want from me and nobody has to say a word.

Yup! I'm, also, able to control my cats by using nothing more than my eyes! A stare means you disapprove; a blink means you're non-threatening; and a moving gaze means that everything's cool.

Cats do, however, prefer it when you talk to them because, like purring, deliberate noise making calls attention to oneself, and means that the noisemaker has no intention of attacking.

(OK, I admit it: I'm a, 'cat whisperer'!) :D
