CCI Veloctor

I agree, that's not a round to be shooting paper with but what about exploding targets at 50 yards ?

I set up 5 exploding targets at 50 yards
It took a few shots to zero the scope in for that round.
I was lucky enough to take all 5 with 5 shots.
I was using a Ruger bolt action 8305, surpressed.

I bought 5 bricks of them last year that are marked for pressure testing in Savage rifles . They are the most accurate thing I have ever shot in my kit gun and run my 63 Winchester without a hiccup . I like the ones I have but have not seen any others marked the way these are .

I like the 40gr Veloctor ammo better than the 32gr Stinger ammo all day long. It's my favorite small game 22lr ammo. It even shoots well in my Ruger Single-Six.

There are others like the Remington Viper and one by Winchester that I forget the name of but it has a black and red label. I'm not sure it's still in production. I have some in my basement but it's buried and I don't want to look now lol.

I have a few boxes of Velocitors, but I've not tried them yet. I will say my "go-to" round for small varmint control for the past few years has been the 40gr CCI Subsonic hollow point. For some reason these have consistently produced quick, one-shot kills on raccoons for me.

Wow opinions all over the place. So for me velocitors are the best in powr AND Accuracy out of my 22lr rifles --namely a 1963 marlin Mountie and Winchester /Miroku heavy barrel 52B. My Marlin Mountie 39a loves them over all others tried and that is m y Squirrel rig so I must get them. But gunstores near me never have them anymore. Ive tried asking them to order for me but it just doesnt happen. and here i NY I cant order thru mail. ID be willing to drive to nearby states if I have to . I bought my son a Marlin 1897 Cowboy 22 rifle and it too loves velocitors the best out of like 10 varieties.

I bought a brick of velocitor's and don't really find them to be dirty. I do find that while they pack a nice punch for critters they are not tack drivers like their standard velocity. For something like a Porcupine they are accurate enough at 50 - 100 feet.

I shot some in my Stevens semi auto in both semiauto and locked mode. over a Chrony... I got 1423 out of it semi auto and 1471 locked...avg of 5 shots each. I shot a fox trotting across the field at about 40 yds. rolled over tail flopped twice DRT...If I remember they are loaded with GDs. My best small game rounds were 40 gr Eley lead HPs with the nose filed off in a little die to make a flat point. Great on PDs, wabbits and skwerls to about 45-50 yards. Only have about 2 boxes of them left. CCI Stingers are a waste of money in my opinion
