I live in il and we just got ccw so I was wondering if anyone uses their sd9ve as their ccw or if you guys got something smaller. If you use it what type of holster did you go with?

Answering that question is about as standard as what kind of vehicle you drive and why.

I have both, 40 and 9mm versions of this gun. Great gun, reliable and very cheap. I have an IWB old faithful that should be here today.

I also have an MP 40c, which I plan on being my EDC once I receive the holster for it. Quite simply put, it's a smaller foot print AND I shoot it better and more consistently.

Those are my answers and reasons. And 99 others will have different ones...:)

i carry my SD40VE daily, i use a aliengear holster.

aliengearholsters.com

its comfy and i forget i am wearing it at times

i also use a galco miami classic shoulder rig at times

My wife and me are going to get our CHL's soon. My wifey got her P239 in .40 last Friday that she wanted as her carry piece because she feels that our SD9VE is to big for her. I have a P229 SAS coming in this week and will decide then if I'm going to carry the Sig or the SD. I have a Fobus leather holster with thumb break that came as a shoulder rig, but I can also carry it OWB, S O B and IWB. Not sure if I'm going to use that or if I'm going to get me something different. I will use it for sure to determine how and where I carry.

Ive carried my sd in many ways. Its still my go to carry firearm. I own blocks, rugers, and a sig atm an my sd is still my fave

Ive used my galco for shoulder carry. My blackhawk serpa for owb and foxx an alien gear for iwb carry. I dont find it hard to conceal. But then again i have a cpl in michigan and its a open carry state so no issues there with how i carry or worries about printing

The option of OC makes it easy for sure. Texas doesn't permit open carry for handguns. :( The only thing you can legaly carry open are rifles and shotguns, but than again - do you really want to haul a 12 gauge in scabbard on your back??? ;) :D

I use a full size ruger Sr9. I have a leather iwb holster from theholsterstore.com for it, but the fabric uncle Mike's is more comfortable for appendix carry.

I found something that works and I'm currently building up money for something that works better. I wouldn't advise doing what I do, since I'm currently just getting by with what I've got.

Yeah i was iffy about cc a big ol sd but it actually works well with aliengear. Comfy and the price is unmatched

I was looking at the one's from aliengear but I didn't see that you could carry an extra magazine or two if you wanted. Did I just overlook it or is that the case?

I would call/email them and ask.
If not....Old Faithful does.
Still convinced Old Faithful and Alien Gear are either the same owner, same manufacturing warehouse...or something else...but they're sister companies somehow.

You'd have to get an extra mag pouch or holder if you choose these leather/kydex hybrids.

Since it's a CPL choice for me, If I can't get it done in 10 shots with my 40c or 14 shots with my SD(yes, I realize each pistol holds +1..)...I'm in more trouble than 1 person with 1 gun can handle (or I'm that bad of a shot...and have no business with a pistol and/or CPL to begin with...)
