CDNN 5906

Hmmm. I looked at one today in a LGS that can be had for $300 OTD. I'ts in good shape and would look much nicer after a polish job. That looks to me like a $50.00 savings, and I get to play with it before I buy it. I guess I could use another 9mm shooter. I think I've got some mags laying around here somewhere that will fit it. I might oughta go back over there tomorrow. After all, I ain't bought anything in a week. (657 3")

My CDNN 5906 came in last week but to some confusion on my part (first handgun) I can't pick it up til Tuesday/Wednesday. FBI check (thought it was already started).

What state are you in? How long is the waiting period??

I'm in Washington State. It's a 5 day waiting period not counting weekends, so its essentially 7 days. I ordered it on a Friday from CDNN and it arrived to my FFL on Tuesday via Fed Ex.

"Curious, how does your second 5906 look? "

John, the second one was in the same nearly new condition as the first. I realize that is a roll of the dice. I made very thin walnut grips for it, pictured on another 5906 thread. Both guns are flawless shooters.

First one came with a finger rest mag. Second has conventional bottom plate.

Oh yes, second one was missing the retaining pin for the plastic mainspring base piece, which is normally hidden under the Hogue rubber grips. I made a new drill rod pin on the lathe...minor inconvenience.

And guys, the CDNN folks are playing it very close to the chest about when/whether Australian surplus 4006s might be coming in, but they offer to take your name/number just in case such a far out eventuality should transpire. ;)

Phil, I'm glad to hear you received some nice guns. I just bought a 5906 off of GB, paid a good chunk for it ($400.00 + shipping/xfer) but the thing is practically brand new so there's a lot of value in that for me.

But I would buy one of these CDNN 5906's based on your experience in a heartbeat if I didn't have too many other "wants" in the pipeline (645/4506).

I have tried to get a friend of mine to purchase one of these, I even forward him a couple of threads (this one included) with people talking about how nice the guns are and what a good value you get for your money.
