Census picture for CCW holder?

We received information about the GIS addressing last week. They apparently began in April for next year for the real census takers. BUT, I see no reason for them to be poking their noses anywhere but in from of the address or politely advising addressee at the front door what information they are gathering.

Let me be the first to call this account and post absolute BS, urban legend, a lie, you name it.

This is wholly untrue...and inflammatory.

I guarantee!!!!

Be safe.

I have to agree, to a point. I don't doubt that someone was there talking to the old girl. I'd bet it was either someone committing fraud of some sort, or it was a legit worker with GPS equipment and she imagined the rest.

By the way, I wouldn't get too worked up over the GPS thing. If you lived in Bexar, Comal or Guadalupe County, Texas, I could give you the exact coordinates, down to the thousandths of a second, of the doghouse in your back yard. All it takes is good aerials and GIS software. They're only asking about mother-in-law houses and such so that they can get everyone counted.

Yep, they came by my place in Michigan last week - wanted to verify my address for the census. I just politely told them to get lost, that I had no intention of participating.
Sorry - I don't see any reason that I should.

I love my country, but fear my government more and more every day.

Illegal aliens are counted just like everyone else. If we decide not to participate, it just guarantees that the areas the illegals live in will be given an even greater share of the political power.

It would help if they would quit asking about race or ethnicity, and could find a way to not count illegals, but the Democrats will never let that happen

I called my wife and I elderly friend to get some more info. Her husband who was a very decorated warrior in the the pacfic theater in WWII has a large gun collection. He passed about 3 month ago.She had called me a week ago and told me her husband had left me a gun in his will that he brought home from one of the islands in the pacfic. It's a Jap rifle of some sort in a small caliber with a 18" barrel.Anyway here neighbor was asking about what she was going to do with the guns. Her husband who died had a CCW permit and the neighbor told her the census taker was going to her picture. It scared her alot.I think you can get the picture.I smell a rat.I'm thinking I'll call the police. At any rate I told her every thing needs to be done, including mine through a FFL dealer for her protection.

Good luck with that.
Trespassing in most areas implies the intent to do harm or act with malice. It does not prohibit walking up to your house with a legitimate purpose.

I tried to word this post carefully.Don't you think calling me a liar a little harsh. It may not be accurate,I thought I made that clear. But me unlike some people know very little for certain. If you think it's not true, good.I probably agree with after reading what other people thought.thanks PJ

Perhaps I spoke a bit harshly but I was not calling you a liar. Sorry if my words were misinterpreted.

I am very paranoid about anyone coming into my backyard uninvited. I have been robbed several times, my garage has been broken into twice and my Ferrari was vandalized. I catch anyone there and I will introduce their kneecaps to the business end of a 2X4. Afterwards I might ask who they are and what do they want.

On one of my gates, I have a bolt to keep the gate closed. In case anyone reached over the gate to pull back the bolt, I had epoxied a razor blade to the bolt and smeared the razor blade with horse manure. I came home one night and saw that someone had tried to open the gate and cut themselves pretty good. I hope he had a tetanus shot. This ain't a joke. I really did this. I don't like thieves, and I am tired of being a victim.

What you are referring to is criminal tresspass. Simple tresspassing on posted property is also illegal.

I won't repeat anything that's already been said one way or the other. I'll only add that IF my tax dollars are being spent to pair addresses and GPS coordinates, I hope it means that someday I'll have a GPS with driving directions that actually work. Around these parts using a GPS is the surest way to get lost.

It sounds like a scam of some sort. I would call local law enforcement and sign a tresspass complaint agaist them, a peeping tom complaint, and any other ordinance I could. I never take somebody as an authority that comes to the door. If they act official and sound like they have an official duty to do something, they better be able to prove it. I am LEO and people never cease to amaze me at how they try to scam upstanding people.

My 2 cents

How did the census worker know he had a CCW permit?

They try to take a picture of me, my family or enter my backyard, I will not be held responsible for anything that happens thereafter.
