Decided to do some new upgrades to one of my favorite rifles and finally do this one the way I've always wanted to. I know I've over-spent on parts vs. the original cost of the rifle, but I'm not concerned about that. So, here's the list:

- Cerakote job in Desert Sage
- Tacticool Updated Barrel Nut
- Geissele 13" Rail & SD-E Trigger
- Magpul STR, Moe+ Grip, MS4 Sling
- BCM Angled Stubby Vertical Grip
- Spike's Fake Can (re-coated in flat black)
- Aimpoint PRO in Bobro Mount
- Troy Sights
- Seekins Mag Release
- BAD-__S Selector Levers and EPS Pins
- Midwest Industries MC-TAR30 Sling Mount
- Inforce WML Light

This is only a .22, what in the world would you do with something like a .556 or .308?? Seriously, this really looks over the top, better than any factory job.. It is so clean and pristine. Great job, I think you could almost be referred to as an expert re finisher. I especially like the colors and the use of them. I just got on the forum and seeing this was really a nice start. Keep on truckin'.

Thanks for the comments - but the refinishing credit belongs to a pro - I didn't do the Cerakote work. As for my 5.56 guns, they're a little over the top also, but this is my hobby, and I don't really have any vices, so I allow myself the toys.

Excellent!

Can you share any links to your other over the top builds?

Thanks...here's one. It's a Northtech Defense matched billet upper & lower with an 18" stainless White Oak Armament barrel and Vortex Viper PST scope. I'll get some new shots of my Noveske as it's currently configured shortly. It's in SBR jail until this fall.

Wow. Absolutely amazing. Love the smith vortex flash hider on the 2nd one as well.

After seeing the triangular cutout in it I thought it might not be a smith vortex. Regardless, you have good taste!

Yep sure is pretty. I would hate to shoot something like that it is just too pretty to shoot. Sort of like when I buy a new truck I just feel like taking a hammer to one of the fenders just to get all the crying over with. Because the first scratch or dent will be a heart breaker and inevitable sure as God's wrath. But that is fine work with an eye for detail. Thanks for the pics...

Thanks, but trust me- this is no safe queen. I'd estimate that it has about 15k rounds through it. I had painted it once before, and it still looked decent, but was showing the wear / scratches / chips from being used outdoors. Although I am hoping the Cerakote finish is tougher than my previous garage job, I won't cry when it gets its first character marks. ;)

Good for you!!! Since this is a second round of beautifying was the first round Cerakote also? How long did it hold up? I am thinking about Cerakote for my 1911 instead of Parkerizing. It has a crappy blue job as it is a cheap Taurus P1911 that I bought to carry daily so I wouldn't give a hoot about banging it up. Now it is my favorite gun but it is butt ugly but a dependable tack driver. I kind of like the idea of just stripping it down and tossing it in the bead blaster then painting instead of Parkerizing. I quit re-bluing as it is a nasty process. But how would you rate Cerakote to Parkerizing?
