I acquired 3 3" Model 65s. They all have some holster wear. I was thinking about putting a Cerakote like finish on one or two of them. I have a couple of rifles with the finish and am satisfied, my question is are there any areas I should watch for on these revolvers? I am primarilly concerned with creating fit and timing issues.

I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with that process. I would consider something like Robar before one of the "paint" type finish products. That's just my preference.

Edit to add: Welcome to the Forum!

bead blast it.I have a 65 that was a used police gun .it was sent back to sw by the agency and they redid it in a bead blast finish .then resold it.

JS9088, welcome to the forum. As you have already seen, you may ask: "Should I go red or blue?" and the answer will invariably be "Bicycle".

I don't know the answer to your question, just thought I'd say hi and welcome. What color you shooting for? I often thought about recoating a beater in "Flat Dark Earth" just 'cause it would make for one tough revolver...

You lucky dog! How'd you pull that off? I was lucky to get the one I have, and it's still a favorite, ten years later. If those were mine and I insisted on some finish work, I'd go for bead-blasting.
