Chambered round

I DO

I do keep a round chambered in my 3913. I also shoot and use a revolver for home, personal defense. Seeing as both guns are DA/SA, the double action pull acts as my safety. I added a spurred hammer to my 3913. As a revolver is ready to shoot with no manual safety, so it goes with my auto. All guns are locked up if they are at my side.

Yeah the saftey is much easier to handle than popin a round in. Id rather flick the thumb up instead of takin the sights down and cockin the slide back! Revolvers ya just point and shoot which is better. More accurate too. Damn i want a revolver bad!

I do but my wife doesn't. So if I wake up on her side of the bed I'll have to remember to rack the 1911!

Just out of curiosity, those who use autos for home defense or CCW for that matter. How many of you keep a round chambered in your gun at home or when carrying?
Every firearm I own is loaded to the top with a round in the chamber.

On this topic what do you all use as a CC holster? I have a Blackhawk which is not very hideable and a Uncle Mikes soft which I feel is too soft to have a round chambered. Currently both of mine do not have a round chambered.
I carry my 1911s in an Adams Holsters Texas rig.

Absolutely! Doing it any other way is like keeping an empty milk jug in the fridge, and the cow out back in the barn.

I always keep a round chambered. As others have said, in a self-defense situation, you may not have time to chamber a round.
