"K-22" Outdoorsman's Revolver, 647947, shipped on January 29, 1935 to Sutcliff Hardware Co., Louisville, Kentucky. The revolver letters with a Marble Ivory Bead front sight and U-notch rear sight. The stocks are numbered to the revolver and it came with its original (numbers are rubbed off) red box and "K-22" brochure.

It was billed at $24.41 (distributor cost).

Curtis...I don't know yet, but it has one of the best trigger pulls I have found on a S&W handgun.

..lets see.. I know you have one Reg Mag, now a Pre War Outdoorsman. Life is good!

Now I just need to get me one of those Pre 29's and see what that's all about.
I think I have you pegged as a "Condition-is-everything" kinda guy. Your guns are impeccable. And you sure do go to a lot of time and effort to show them to us. I appreciate that.

This shows the superb inherent merit of S&W arms. Quality fit for a museum from birth, or ready for a life of hard service with relatively minimal maintenance. Yet the high pedigree always intact.

Your pictorial representations are every bit the equal of the arms shown, here and in your many posts.

Thanks for the show-and-tell.

Regards,

Dyson

Doc,
A beautiful revolver. I love to shoot mine although it does not have the original box or papers.

Even though I know better, I still canot bring myself to believe that revolvers like this were sold in stores and intended to be taken out and treated like "guns".... They areally are works of art!!!!

Doc,

Wow! Very nice!! Mine doesn't even come close to yours, but it does have a great trigger pull!

Thanks for the post!

Does anyone have info on the Sutcliffe Hardware Co. I have two that were shipped there. A postwar Transition 38/44 Outdoorsman shipped 9/19/46 and a postwar Transition 4in. 3rd model .44 HE shipped 3/24/47.

Thanks
Randy

Thanks for the post, Bill. That's a really sweet old .22, ... it has it's own kind of charm.
