I have a 629-4 and a 625-5, both with 5" barrels. The 629 has a set of internal mods that I'm not familiar with, ones my gunsmith tell me are there to correct problems found with using heavy loads. The extra parts are there to keep the cylinder from unlocking under heavy recoil. The 625 has the same internal machining as the 629, but does not have the extra parts. Can the extra parts be integrated into the 625 if when using heavy loads the cylinder unlocks? If so, what is required other than the parts themselves? BTW, not planning to make the change but am curious about whether it can be done.
