I got a chance to grab some images of the muzzle. What are your thoughts.

I do not believe the front sight was sleeved.

Nice pictures. I am a novice here but it looks to me like picture #1 appears to show the sleeve from the muzzle view. Where mine looks like a 50:50 barrel:sleeve yours looks more like 80%-90% barrel with a thin sleeve. When i look for the corresponding parting line behind the sight i don't see it in pic #1. In pic #3 it does look like there is a shadow where the contour of barrel changes so not sure.

The pics don't show a lot. I still think it is a very fine seam that is hard to see, especially in pics. Look at it with a 10X loupe if you have one.
Do you think it is soldered on? If it was, you would see some solder and you definitely would not have that contoured fit around the base of the sight.

Note this step that should be a smooth radius. That is where the barrel was turned down.

Lee,

I will take a critical look tomorrow. I never noticed that step. But I have multiple revolvers from the same era to compare. Looking at it in hand, I do not see any seams. What I see, in hand, is a radius cut under the sight and a great braze or solder joint to affix it to the barrel.

What other images would you like to see?
