To say the place was bare of ammo be a understatement. They had some miscellaneous caliber shotgun shells, 17hmr, 7mm mag. I know the guy who works sporting goods and he normally keeps up with ordering ammo. He said the warehouse had put out a notice that ammo has no ETA on availability that cant get any in stock.

The wal mart near me was empty as well. Except for 8 boxes of Winchester .40. Which is exactly what i was looking for!

Same here in Jacksonville, NC today. There is a small local Gun Show here tomorrow. I am looking for an old Marlin 39a. Will go and check out the ammo situation.

I visited a LGS that is a little out of the way this morning and he has a decent supply of ammo. He's a pretty sharp business man so I suspect he was building his inventory for some time.

I was at gander Mountain today. No .223, but plenty of pistol ammo. Expensive, .45 auto was going for about $40 for a box of 50. defense ammo even more. Plenty of shotguns on the shelf, no ARs.

Hi fellas, my first post here. I bought the last 2 boxes of 357 Rem mag target loads at the Wal Mart in Parkesburg PA. The rest of the ammo was rifle in 30-30, 30-06 and some odd ball stuff. Every online supplier is either out of stock, overpriced and most only have the less desirable rounds available. I bought 2 boxes of Magtech 158gr JHP from LG Outdoors LG Outdoors Sporting Goods online shopping last night. Not much to choose from.

Everyone is in panic mode. I guess myself included. I normally keep more ammo on hand and it was on my mind but getting for the holidays wasn't thinking too much about it until Newtown. Still have plenty of 45acp stashed though. I carry 357 model 66 w/4" barrel.

welcome to the forum and very nice carry piece

The Walmarts around Virginia Beach VA have been bone dry since before Christmas. Hoping they get some .45auto back in stock, they have a nice deal for some Federal box of 100 for $30.

No Walmarts out in this rural area I live in.

I was in the Bozeman, Montana Walmart on monday and they had quite a bit of rifle and shotgun ammo. No .22 LR ammo and only a few boxes of handgun ammo.

Just got the last three boxes of 40 at my local Wally World... that's about all they had except some odd ball stuff. But as for the elusive 22LR soon scientists will be digging up 22LR spent brass and putting them in exhibits in museums around the country...

Same here in the northeast. Ironically, you can get all the .380 you care to shoot.

My Spidey-sense told me to buy about 6000 rounds of Federal bulk before this whole thing started.

With 7 year old twins and a 15 year old who all love to shoot, I'd say I have enough to last until at least 7:30:o

If I recall correctly, the .22LR started to disappear a few months ago. I thought it was odd because during the last shortage .22's could always be found.

I was out for a walk Saturday and passed through Walmart and they had five boxes of Winchester 555. I bought 2 of them just because.

I guess I am a hoarder too, I already have 7 or 8 bricks laying around.

This wont change for some time. I load my own and cant find components. Everything is sold out everywhere pretty much.

And the irony here is the same day I post about them being sold out, I walk in and they have tons of 40 and 45. Still no 22LR for me though...This weekend I will go shopping.

I just went to two Walmarts in Washington state. The first one was completely out of .22, .38, .357, .44. They had two boxes of 100 round value packs of .45 auto. I was looking at them and another guy walked up and he will take them.

I went to another smaller Walmart and they were out of .22 but did have most other calibers but not a lot of any of the pistol ammunition.

I was at a gun show before that and bought 8,000 Remington primers with 3,000 being small pistol which are tough to find anywhere right now. $40.00 a thousand. I bought 5,000 Remington large pistol for $175.00. Brian

I got a 100 round box of 38 and a box of 357 today. They had some 40 and 380. No 22.

Between my wife and I, we bought four boxes of Federal 9mm and two boxes of Winchester bulk 22lr at a local Walmart today. Took a while to find the person with a key to the ammo case. After we had paid for the ammo we heard the counter guys say something to the effect that a couple more sales and they wouldn't be bothered any more today and there was no truck tonight so tomorrow looked good.
