Hi all,
As part of a downsizing effort in our lives, I’m going to be parting ways with 2 S&W revolvers (and a couple of others).

Looking to get an idea of values so i can start to write up the sale ads.

1. K38
I believe this is the Masterpiece, bought it used a few years ago.
Pretty worn grips that match the sn, as does cylinder.
SN is K 78606.
Finish is pretty good, but well used. Maybe 80%?
Great gun, but it didn’t make the cut.

2. 686 4” barrel
Has hogue grips, so don’t have the SN handy.
Hardly use, only a slight turn ring.
The original stocks are with it, as is a S&Wsoft case.
A bit big for me and I have other 4” 357s, so it goes, too.

The others
Springfield Armory 1911-A1 Loaded
Got used in a trade 15 years ago. My only 45, don’t shot it much so the caliber is being discontinued in my safe. 😀

Glock 17 G3
I have a Gen 1 from 1986 and this one is ‘extra’. Haha

General guidelines and thoughts appreciated.

Thanks!

Hard to give you pricing information without detailed pictures. Your best bet is probably to go to one (or more) of the big auction sites and look at recent actual sales. You'll be able to compare condition of yours and the ones that sold and get a pretty good idea of the value of yours. Of course auctions are often "high retail" prices so depending on where you sell you might not match the auction prices. Good luck.

If it has a 6" barrel, it is a K-38 Masterpiece.
The serial number puts it in late 1949 or early 1950 (ship date).
It could be either a K-38 Masterpiece (narrow rib) or a K-38 Heavy Masterpiece (wide rib). Both were being produced in 1949-50. In well-worn condition that probably won't affect the price, but you might want to include the configuration in your advertisement.

I agree with Jeff's comments regarding pricing.

Sorry, was traveling. Points well taken on details & photos.
Here are a few to hopefully provide some context.

As always. thanks to all for any info willing to be shared!!

Yours is a earlier version than the one I picked up last year with a very nice set of Sanderson target grips for $425. Mine is in slightly better condition. From what I have seen, examples like ours that are not in collectible condition do not seem to be subject to the booming prices that cropped up in the last couple years. Looking at completed auctions on GB, my guesstimate for yours would be in the $400 range.

Hi all
Wanted to follow up on this post. I just sold it this weekend, locally for a smidge over $500, so favorable to some expectations which I’m happy about.
I was sad to let it go, but I do need to bring things down a little and I have a nice M19 6”, that never got used because it was so pretty. It went to a good home, and everyone seems to be happy.
Just wanted to provide that data point for those with an interest.

Cheers!
