Chrome Model 59?

A friend has a model 59 (serial # A 3580** circa 1976 1977) in chrome.

He's wondering if it was something done by an owner (it's a pretty good chrome job in pretty good shape) or done at the factory.

I couldn't find anything about one in the Standard Catalog but was wondering if anyone had any information about factory-made chrome 59.

S&W didn't offer chrome as a standard finish, but they did offer nickel. That's what it looks like to me.

I agree on Nickle, I knew a Coronado PD Sergeant that carried one while I was stationed there in 1978-80.

The finish is in very good shape.
