The pictures of this creep are interesting. Looks like lots of blood on his right shoulder and arm. I hope its leaking out of him, but I suspect it belongs to one of the victims.

Looks like a groin protector for body armor hanging down in front, too.

I hope Mr Roof will meet a very loud end.

Is it desecration of the church or would it be Jehovah's will that he gave you the ability to buy and carry a firearm. If it were not his will there are plenty of ways that could keep you from this ability. Psalm 144 1 comes to my mind first.

Personally I don't ask permission and I carry concealed and no one but my wife and family know that I carry in the hall or outside the hall, that's what concealed carry means no see no knowing. When it comes time for the hugging everyone does I make sure I move my hip to the side so they don't fell it and have been doing this for years with no one knowing any difference. As for the law in some areas I don't care and will continue to carry until asked to leave. If they knew I guess they would ask me not to carry which would cause me to go elsewhere or no where. Do you really need a church to praise Jehovah? But I'm sure that if I saved lives those who where saved would be grateful. Others would say it was Jehovah will but I feel it was his will that I would have been there to make a difference. I sit in the back room just past the main doors and have a good advantage in this area to try to stop any despicable act like this. I also feel if I weren't meant to stop this type of act then I would be one of the first taken out.

It was just a matter of time attacks would happen in a church another mostly gun free zone.

Thoughts and prayers going out to the families and to all and hope they don't take him alive.

Not a JW but you sum up my thoughts exactly.

Prayers to all of the victims, their family, and friends.

I also offer prayers to the family of the shooter, who has been I.D. by the F.B.I. I don't know if the suspect is under arrest as if yet.

I hope they don't arrest him. I hope he tries to resist.

They don't arrest sharks that bite people.

They don't arrest rabid racoons.

They put them down.

I REALLY don't want to see five or ten years of people just as sociopathic as him "explaining" why he needs to live off of the tax dollars of the victims' survivors for the next sixty years, fondly remembering the murders he committed.

And to those who claim he'll have the rest of his life to "think about what he did", you BET he will... as the BEST five minutes of his life. That of course leaves aside the superstar status he'll have in prison.

He's better off DEAD, and we'll all be better off for it too.

This country will soon be a lot like the middle east where places of worship are bombed and the taking of innocent lives becomes an every day occurrence. There will be no safe place. Schools and churches are now seen as targets of opportunity by fanatics and deranged people in increasing numbers. I wouldn't be surprised to find out this guy wasn't connected or identified somehow to an offshore terrorist group.

The media will blame the easy access of guns but we all know that is only a feel good maneuver. You might just as well blame the access to automobiles for the high rate of deaths on our highways.

These incidents disgust me but they are carried out by mentally deranged people capable of just about anything. Those people will always be among us when we shop, go to school, to church or anywhere large numbers of people gather.

Background checks won't stop it but many will be led to believe they will. I was told by someone just yesterday that BC's were a good place to start. My only question was to start what? I then gave her a copy of the study being done by the state of TX regarding the crime rate of people who hold weapons permits. I think it is less than 1% of people charged with violent crime. Hard to dispute those numbers but people will try. I'm pretty sure this guy didn't take the time get a back ground check. It would be interesting to find out. If he did he had no record and it missed him, in which case it was useless anyway.

In a day and age when the fool in the documentary "Grizzly Man" is virtually "mainstream", there's literally NOTHING that can't be disputed.

Carry Anyway!!:::It's illegal to carry in church here with out church permission.

So what?
It is illegal to murder, carry a gun anyway.:)
When you weigh the potential evil consequences, a good man carrying a gun makes sense.

I did it during the Gulf War, but because there were SPECIFIC threats in play and a drooling imbecile in charge actually making the danger WORSE.

Absent a SPECIFIC threat, are you willing to risk your right to carry, your right to own firearms, and your freedom?

What a tragedy; prayers out to the church and all of the victims.

I'm visiting at Mom's this week and we just discussed it. I think she thought it was strange that I carried in church but she said today the only way he cold have been immediately stopped is by an off-duty peace officer or civilian with a CCW.

Like Pat Rogers says, always carry your gun.

I think that you may be making a mountain out of a molehill. It is not a felony to carry in church, or the supermarket for that matter.
Any place where people publicly gather, is a public place. A church/supermarket is private property, and the most they can do is ask you to leave, or call the cops.
If it went to court, the charge would be trespass.
I don't need a specific threat, all I need is want-to. If I want-to, I will. Don't over-think this.
Finally, let me add this. I am sitting in a public library right now, and I have 2 clip-on knives secured to my pockets.
One is front-pocket & the other is back-pocket. Everywhere that I go, I am armed somehow.

I honestly don't think.....

That someone would shoot up a house of worship holding peace-loving people is pure insanity. We may find that the killer, once caught, might have been indoctrinated by hate rhetoric from an early age.

Condolences to the families of the victims.

I think that rather than being 'indoctrinated' at an early age from rhetoric of yesteryear people are picking this up as teenagers as a cool thing to do.
