Cicada Mania!

Here in extreme SW Ohio the cicadas have really multiplied in the last 48 hours. I just mowed the lawn and did my best to avoid them. As of right now, they are crawling up trees and poles...preparing to launch. It is supposed to range in the mid to high 80's the next 3 days...so that'll really get em out. I was going to wash and wax my car...but I think I'll wait since there no use in having bug splats all over a freshly waxed vehicle!

Easier to get them off a well waxed car.

Another Cincinnatian!!!!

I haven't seen or really heard any of them in the Dayton OH area yet. I bet the folks behind me are gonna have fun though, they just uncovered their above ground pool. Cicada stew.

I am on far east side of Columbus and have yet to see any. I think the next rain will get them popping out. The ground is really hard right now and from what I understand, it is the first real rain after the ground gets up to temp that gets them hatching heavily.

Kevin, I just showed that video to Logan and JR. They said they are not leaving the house.

Earlier this month their parochial school was discussing the seven plagues.

Bad timing.

I didn't read all the entries, so hopefully this is not a repeat. I saw on TV last night when a candy store was offering Chocolate Covered Cicadas!! I think they were $18/dozen.
