Picked up Three-Inch Teeth with a copyright date of 2024 at a library today.
Haven't read but a couple, guessing Mr. Box cranks them out pretty regular.

To me, Joe Pickett books are best read in order of the series. I say this because as the series advances the characters develop and small references are made to actions in previous books, so although you can read them out of order you miss some of the nuances by doing so.

That's true of most series novels. I just finished a Baldacci book that is the second in a series. I have questions, so now I have to buy the first. I've read Baldacci for many years. Almost all of them have been enjoyable thrill rides with lots of twists and turns.

So true and same can be said for the Sacketts, Walt Longmire, Lucas Davenport, Harry Bosch and others. Odd how I can become invested in fictional characters but I'll blame the quality of the writing. Recently came across some by Andrew Mayne and William Kent Kreuger but those will require another thread.

I'm a fan. But I hope this one is better than Three Inch Teeth. Too many things in that one that just was to much of a stretch for me. I know, its fiction, but I think he could have got to the same outcome other ways. Ill be down at the library Monday to see if they have his new one.
I've been reading Stephen Hunter. His books about Bob Lee Swagger, his dad and grand dad and all other characters related to the series. His real knowledge of guns and their uses keep me entertained and entranced enough to get lost in his writing for hours at a time.

Reminded me of the 1969 Peggy Lee song....Is This All there is?

I will be turning it back in to Audibile-dot-com for a credit refund.
