While home over Christmas I took some photos of family members with cars I cannot recognize. They look to date from the 1920s-1930s. Can you help identify them?

Here is car #1

The last car looks like a chrysler or dodge as they had wood spoke wheels like in the picture, model a's had wire wheels and I dont ever remember seeing a 3 window coupe until the 1932 year. Jeff

No Sir Mr. Mc it's not a Ford. I'm guessing a Plymouth. Model A had wire wheels, buggy springs and a different rear bumper.

I would take a guess that car #1 is a 30's Lincoln Zephyr, based on the 4 vent "lines" on the top of the front fender. HOwever, looking at other Zephyr pictures, the headlights are mounted on the fenders, not a "stem" as shown in the pictures.
Interesting to see the way people dressed "back in the day". I would conclude that since a vechile was an major and expensive purchase, the owners were very proud.
Car #3 and #4 appear to have wooden spokes in the rims?

I think that #3 and #4 are Whippets. Look up Whippet car and see what you think. My Dad had a Whippet coupe. #2 = ?

Hi Thought Photos 1 and 2 might be a 1930's Desoto Air Stream as they had bar cooling vents Found picture of one with the rims that look the same but in yours can tell where the headlights attach Cowl or fender If only they would have showed the grill Have you tried a magnifying glass on picture 3 You might be able to make out the emblem on the grill Best of luck

#1 1936 Nash Lafayette
# 2 is a mid 20's hudson
#3 is a mid 20's Maxwell or small Chrysler
The sedan with the gentleman posing beside it is a late 20's (1928 I think) Chrysler
The last car is a 1931 Chrysler coupe

I'm thinking a Packard of some kind. It's the only car of that era I can find with a flat windshield and top hinged wipers.

I take it back. The Lincoln K Series is close.

I think the first and second pics are the same car, (whatever kind), with the couple taking turns manning the Kodak, and with a little different distance.

That lady's full mink was high dollar even then.

People once wanted to look their best in pictures; instead of today, wanting to "selfie" in their soiled "underdraws"!

I've spent about 2 hours on these autos
#1 Nash Lafayette is correct, 1936

#2 ?????

#3 is a mid-20's whippet

2nd #3 about a '28 Chrysler 65 or Dodge

#4 May also be a Dodge, but not a Chrysler

That Nash Lafayette looks unusual in that it appears to be a 2-door. All the pics I can find on the web are 4-doors. It might be what was called a Victoria Coupe style body.

I didn't recognize any of them, but, two things came to mind in seeing the pics.
One, I'd like to own any one of them now, and two, that coupe in pic # 4 is a big car,or the people shown are very diminutive, if you note, it sort of dwarfs them.
Thanks for sharing these.

Thank you all for your ideas; I see now that car #3 is actually two cars. Keen eyes! So far the consensus seems to be as follows.

1: 1936 Nash Lafayette
2: Mid-1920s Hudson
3a: Whippet or Mid-1920s Maxwell
3b: Whippet, Mid-1920s Chrysler or 1928 Chrysler Series 65
4: Dodge or Plymouth
