Clean The Barrel Muzzle or Breach?

I just wonder if it's one of those things that was passed down over and over and shouldn't have been. Long time ago a bunch of guys are done with a long day of hunting they are sitting around cleaning their guns when a son comes up with his .22 "oh you don't clean a .22 son. It's bad for it and they shoot better dirty". That boy grows up teaching his kid and so on. Just like the don't swim after eating. It doesn't cause cramps, some family went camping and got done eating the kids wanted to go swimming but parents just wanted to rest from being full so they fed their kids a line and it was then passed on.

Agreed. My accuracy comes from repeating the same thing I did the time before.
