I know this is probably a stupid question but I'm trying to clean my wife's 642 (yea I always get stuck cleaning hers) and I cannot get the dang trigger cleaned.. Is this just something I'm going to have to deal with or is there a magical potion for it??:D

The trigger will not clean up and look like the rest of the gun, color wise. It has a 'case hardened' color (darker and molten colored). Don't worry, it is supposed to be that way.

In the 'old days,' this case hardening was used on triggers and hammer to make them more durable. One older guns, this made for some absolutely beautiful colors. One the newer MIM hammers and triggers, the beauty just isn't there. The color I assume you are seeing is normal.
