Cleaning out the Garage so I can Park a car in it!

Hornets went to the auction. Most of 'em anyway. Local fellow offered me 50 bucks for the 2 boxes of bullets for the Jet. He's also getting the last 3 cans of Dupont 4759. It brings a premium out here I guess. I though he was high on the Jet bullets too. I guess I also have stuff that won't sell for as much too. Evens out I guess

cars

My Son can't park in his 2 car garage for 2 reasons. 6 Harley's and his 4 door pickup truck is too big to fit. Grandson and Granddaughter, just about the same problem, trucks to big to fit the garage. My wife insisted that she be able to park her '05 Thunderbird in one bay of our garage, the other side is filled with my junk

Another reason to use the garage is that it reduces the likelihood of local criminals doing criminal stuff to your vehicles. At our house in the town where y wife worked, we put up a serious fence with an electric gate, but here we have a 2 car garage and make complete use of it for the cars for all the reasons others have given.

I feel your pain! I gave up a 30x70 2 story shop with four 10x10 bay doors so my wife could have a lake house. It will take me years to find all my reloading stuff. :-(

I am finding mine. I took 35 items to an auction and more going to another one next week. Hopefully I'll get nuff money out of this stuff to pay for the stuff I just bought:eek:

It wasn't until after I had a door added from the garage directly into my basement that I appreciated it. I told my my neighbors that I felt like I was finally living in high cotton.

And the remote garage door open was the best invention since the TV remote control.

I have used 4759 in a few reduced 38 and 22-250 loads
but really don't know what this powder, was really made for.

Glad to see that you got to sell it and make more room.

As far as I know SR-4759 (SR = Sporting Rifle) was developed as a cast bullet rifle powder. Back after WWII cast bullets were still being used a lot in rifles and DuPont put out that powder for loading rifles and it did so very well until Hodgdon discontinued it and the other 2 powders in the SR line.

No matter what IMR/Hodgdon claims, nothing in their line comes close to SR-4759, not even Trail Boss which they claim is the replacement.

I have used it in the 30-30, 30-06, 45-70 and maybe more I can't recall right now and I miss it dearly. :(

I fear 4759 is gone forever this time. It was discontinued 2 times previously by Dupont...resurrected twice. The Black powder cartridge rifle guys pay a premium for it here. Best BP substitute ever according to them. Mine is now all gone...but I still have 9 pounds of HS-5 and 4 pounds of Win 540(HS-6) amongst all the older powders. For some reason I have quite a bit of discontinued powder. Maybe it was the price HS-5 50 cents a pound. Good grief I'm cheap!

Finally got my camera to work, just hope that this picture is right side up
it was on its side in the posting center ?

22-250 with SR4759 powder, tested a while back.
