Color fill writing on receiver

The M&P signature on my Sport is filled with white. The S&W logo on the other side is not. Anyone know why some of the models have filled writing and not all of them? Wish my 15-22 had filled lettering. I tried some of the techniques described here but was not happy with any of them. So my 15-22 has been cleaned back to its original condition.

I have no idea why. I will tell you I used the nail polish method on my Shield and it turned out terrific.

My m&p15 sport came without the M&P etching on the right side. I didn't realize it until I got it home from the store. I called S&W and they told me a lot of the ones that were made around the time that mine was came without. No big deal I guess... But i do think the etching is cool, I wonder if they'd let me send it back and have them etch it. Think they'd do that?

Do it yourself. It's very easy. I used White Nail Polish and wiped off with Nail Polish Remover. Looks Flawless
