I've wanted a Colt Anaconda for a long time, preferably 6" in .44 Mag. Although they are scarce here in Switzerland, I saw several throughout the years but always too expensive for my taste and budget, typically $ 2000.-

Finally found one end of last year for $ 1600.- from a private seller

A few weeks ago I saw an internet ad for a 4" at $ 1200. I was tempted but I resisted, telling myself I don't need two Anacondas.

And then just a few days ago, while refreshing my browser, I saw the ad was still active. Oh well, life's too short, so I made an offer and we concluded a deal at $ 1070.-

The gun arrived this morning

Now I feel like I need an 8". The madness never ends.

Classic12, as a friend, I must insist you purchase the 8" now. It will reassure the other two. :D;)

Great purchases. I imagine it would be difficult to find locally; as others mentioned, they are not often found here (US) for sale very often.

They are really good point-of-aim / point-shooting firearms.

Really loving that 4"!!! Congrats, they make a nice looking couple! Beware, I couple that looks THAT good together, just may get a little too amorous and before you know it, you end up with 4 or even more! Much like your Anaconda's, the Walton's also started out as a nice looking, unassuming couple!

While I hope Colt revives the Anaconda, it may be on Colt's back burner as they can not make enough Pythons!
I just don't see it at his time unless they plan to expand their manufacturing capabilities.

Very nice, enjoy!!!

I saw a 6" one at my favorite store that was (still is) on sale for 2K. A bit steep. When I tried it (empty, in the store) found out with big disappointment that it had a sloppy (slight rotational movement of the cylinder left and right) lock-up on all chambers. All other Colt revolvers I tried (not many) had rock solid lockup. Thought that is to be expected of all Colt revolvers. That Anaconda looked fine otherwise.

CLASSIC12, pardon me for asking, how are your two Anacondas in this regard?

They both lock up solidly. I'll try and go test the 4" at the range today

Nice pair. I owned a 6 inch years ago, but ended up selling it to finance a 6 inch 629. Just like N frames better, but it was a good gun.

IF Colt reintroduced it, I would probably buy one, just because I like my .44's.

Anacondas

I bought a new 4" Anaconda when they were introduced in the early 1990s. I never cared for the gun and traded it even up for a nice S&W 29-2 4". The trade was actually in my favor back then. Much later I have managed to acquire two 6" Anacondas; one 44 Magnum and the other 45 Colt. The weight of these guns make them easier to shoot hot loads.

Congratulations on your pair.

That 4" is a sexy devil...I have a 6" that I take out and wipe down and maybe shoot a few cylinders full once in a while...
