I apologize but I don't know how to post links to GunBroker. They have a Second Model Hand Eject in 44 Special for sale, and I was wondering what the experts on this forum think about it. The number is 115376931.

The seller, Lyle Larkworthy, used to post here frequently but has been out of the loop for the past year or so.
He is a superb fellow and a very reputable collector. Buy from him with confidence.

It looks to have been buffed, as the screw holes are slightly dished and the logo looks to be a little washed out. The left side was also polished/buffed with the frame lug in place, leaving a rounded lug and uneven blue. Also note the rounded edges around the hammer stud in the frame. The other area that caught my eye is his photo of the underside, which looks a little "flat" compared to the rest of the finish.
I'm not trying to comment on the seller, as I know nothing about him, but his opening bid of $1395 for a fair refinish is $145 above the SCSWs price of $1250 for an excellent+ original gun.
I hope this helps!

The seller states that the revolver has been reblued. He is also selling it wearing a pair of Keith Brown grips "valued at $400.00". Seems like Larkworthy is being up front about condition.

Uh, Dave
He states that it was a refinish. What you are missing is that it is a 2nd Model TARGET. If you read the small print in the SCSW, they're worth 2 to 3 times that of a standard model.
Also, the KB grips don't hurt it any either.

Interesting sidenote to this post is that I see Lyle is offering a Python owned by Elvis Presley.

Thanks Dean, I missed the note about the Target Models.

In my experience, you can buy guns from Lyle with confidence that they are not misrepresented. As to price or values today, remember that the values listed in the SCSW, 3rd. edit. are 4 years old.

You'll have to go a long way to find a more reputable or nicer person to deal with than Lyle.
