whats the diffrence between an california compliant model and a non compliant model,is it just the magizine size,on how many shells it holds,or is the guns itself diffrent

Compliant model has 10 round mags for California, that look like the 25 rounders, and so far, I have not seen one in CA with the threaded barrel, but they can sell them here. SO, I think it's just the mag.
I have seen pics of guys from NY that have 10 rd mags, that are shorter, and look more like a 10 rd mag.

i figured it was only the mag that was diffrent not the m&ps,but did see that the barrel for califorina is Carbon Steel and compliant models have 4140 Steel barrels,strange

The California assualt weapons ban exempts 22 rimfires, thus they can have collapsable stocks and whatever other features they want. CA does still have a high cap mag ban though. The "CA Compliant" SKU is OSA the 811030 SKU except for the 25/10 magazine.

All 15-22 barrels are plain old carbon steel. Listing 4140 is likely a typo by copying specs from a M&P-15.

It is nice being able to just drop the mag without using a bullet button...other than that, my 5.56 AR can have all the other features to, collapsible stock, pistol grip, just 10 round mags also.
I was just wondering why other states will not allow a collapsible stock...why do they think that makes a rifle evil?

Wow removing the pin was extremely easy took approximately 5 minutes to do.
