In my local market we can buy:

Rifle powders and bullets, any size primer including shotgun, shotgun wads. Of course variety and amounts are quite limited.

Cannot buy:

Pistol or shotgun powders, pistol bullets, shot for loading. It seems these are quite limited on unavailable on-line either!

Any ideas. Not trying to get a conspiracy theory started, but it sure seems odd!

How far are you from Spanish Forks? They just held the State trap shoot there this past weekend. I would bet there would have been powder available from either the Club or a Vendor at that shoot.

The lady on the other end of the phone told me that it will be a
while until any Winchester pistol powder comes out.

She told me they had a mess up with the powder and it was "BAD" !!
I don't know if it had to all be disposed of or if they are trying to salvage it ?

If you have w231 etc, don't spill any !!

Ed, that is the same thing I heard from a salesman at Recobs. If that's true , how many former Winchester powder employees are there now?
