There's a bill in West Virginia to make it a permitless or Constitutional concealed carry state. The bill's passed both the Senate and the House and now it's up to the Governor to do the right thing.
Even though it doesn't really affect us personally because we need a concealed carry permit to exercise reciprocity with Virginia, it'll still be nice to live in a state with common sense.
Now if only Maryland's Government'd pull their heads out of their collective backsides and reciprocate with West Virginia.

It's only "Way to go WV" IF the Gov signs it. As I understand situation from WV'ers , the time clock has run out for a Veto override, and the is political pressure on the Gov regarding his presumed next run for US Senate to not sign it.

The way I understand it, the governor has 10 days from the time the bill hits his desk to approve or veto it (he got it on 3/16). If he does nothing, the bill passes and becomes law. If he vetoes it, the congress can override the veto if there are enough supporters (which there are, by a large margin!). However, WV's legislative session ended on 3/14. So if he vetoes it, they can't override it!

Hey Snubby, Did you get a phone call from the anti gunners wanting you to call the governors office to oppose the bill? I did. Here is the conversation. It was pretty short.

Me-"Hello"
Them, a woman,-" Hello. Are you aware of the new legislation concerning the carrying of concealed weapons without any formal training that is on your governor's desk? Would you be willing to call the governor's office an voice your opposition to this bill?"
Me-" Where are you from?"
Her-" I am representing , insert antigun coalition name- I forget which one, this week."
Me- "You don't live in this state so mind your own business. You don't like it then don't come visit here".
Me-"Hello. Hello." The line was dead. And that concluded the conversation. I figured that the longer I kept her on the phone, the less people she had time to call.

That would be great news if it's approved, and maybe motivate other states to follow suit.

Not yet but if I do I'll let my Italian wife take it. She does not suffer fools lightly. I'd record it but I'm sure she'll be using dirty words.

West Virginia governor vetoes constitutional carry bill

“Throughout my career, I have strongly supported the Second Amendment,.......................” Tomblin said in a written statement. “However, I must also be responsive to the apprehension of law enforcement officers from across the state, who have concerns about the bill as it relates to the safety of their fellow officers......."
...............................

"Had the governor signed the bill, West Virginia would have joined the ranks of Alaska, Arizona, Vermont and Wyoming, which currently hold constitutional carry legal."

LEO's in the current 5 Constitutional Carry States seem to have no problem.
